Boston is known as the cradle of American history, but it also boasts world renown museums of art and science.

Art lovers in Boston should flock to the Museum of Fine Arts, known as the "MFA". The MFA is over 125 years old and has an international collection of masterpieces, including one of the largest collections of Asian art in the world. The I. S. Gardner Museum, which was built in the style of  a 15-th century Venetian palace is located only a few blocks away from the MFA, making it easy to see some of the finest art in Boston in one afternoon.

Science enthusiasts will love visiting the Museum of Science, it's one of the most innovative and interesting museums on the East coast. There are over 600 interactive exhibits as well as the Hayden Planetarium and the Mugar Omni Theater.

A T-Rex Named Sue

Come snout-to-snout with the king—or queen—of the dinosaurs at the Museum of Science. On June 21,  visitors to the Museum of Science, Boston will get an up-close look at one of the biggest, fiercest meat-eaters ever to roam North America—Tyrannosaurus rex. Sue lived a long life, and when she died her massive body was covered by the fine silt of an ancient river. For millions of years, Sue lay buried deep within the Black Hills of South Dakota until August 12, 1990, when fossil hunter Sue Hendrickson encountered the sleeping giant. A fully mounted cast of Sue’s magnificent skeleton will be on exhibit at the Museum of Science. Visitors will marvel at the single largest and most complete T.rex yet discovered. On exhibit  from June 21 - October 9, 2000.
