B
oston calls itself a "walking city", and for good reason. Within a few blocks you can go from taking in a show at Chinatown to shopping at Downtown Crossing. Just up the hill is the Boston Common, and more climbing brings you to elegant Beacon Hill. If you decide to go down the hill, you’ll end up at that busy Government Center tourist destination, Faneuil Hall. Cross over for some biscotti in Boston’s "Little Italy", the North End, and either a bridge or the train (the MBTA, known as the "T") takes you to historic Charlestown. Stay on the orange line train to the funky side of Boston, the South End.
